Oak Brook History

The village of Oak Brook, Illinois was incorporated in 1958 and is located twenty-five miles from the Chicago Loop. Oak Brook has a residential population of 8,702 with a daytime population approaching 100,000. Property owners in Oak Brook pay no property tax to the Village as Village services are funded primarily by sales tax receipts.

Oak Brook is headquarters for many national and international companies and organizations, including McDonald’s, Ace Hardware, Federal Signal Corporation, Blistex, and Lions Club International.
